Zoe Stern Stillinger deeply values the creative process. Through art, she celebrates life, her connection to the world, and her experiences of love, beauty, and grief. She sees art as affirmation of existence and approaches her work with utmost devotion and care, as well as playfulness; she enjoys expressing herself through songwriting, performing, and dancing, among other things.
Recently, she graduated from the Evergreen State College with a Bachelors of Arts. Her studies focused on the intersections of art and existential philosophy; integral to her education were classes in musical performance, writing, literature, mythology, art history, and French.
Her study abroad in France was one of the many highlights of her education. Other highlights include: Gallery shows which she hosted on campus, projects in book-binding and darkroom photography, performance workshops, Nietzsche specific studies, and the unexpected and fortuitous formation of her band, Zeaux.
During these undergraduate years, Zoe was given the space to explore her artistry and intellectual drive in meaningful ways. While connecting with her community, she practiced embracing her strengths and innermost questions, developing her sense of voice and understanding of her craft.
It brings her immeasurable joy to create and share her work, as well to support the creativity within others. She is inspired by the writings of Nietzsche, Rilke, and Hesse. She loves dark chocolate above eighty percent cacao.
